We woke Lily up bright and early to head to the hosptial.
Sweet baby girl fell asleep on the way there.
We headed up the fun escalators...
And then waited in the surgery clinic for Lily's name to be called.
Lily wanted to color...look what she drew.
A heart <3
Before we knew it, there was a HUGE team of doctors
ready and waiting for our precious Lily.
So many hours of discussing, planning, and coordinating has gone into this surgery. Dr. Jonas is one of only a few surgeons who would even attempt this third open heart surgery on Lily. To call her "complex" would be a huge understatement. With her heart in the right side of her chest, upside down and backward only the most skilled surgeon could ever complete this successfully! Dr. Jonas has been traveling to China for the past 25 years completing heart surgeries for children with the most complex heart conditions. If anyone can do this, it's Dr. Jonas with the help of the Great Physician, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Lily's spirits were high this morning. Not one tear or trepidation.
She must know this is "her" day!
They took Lily back at 07:34am for anesthesia,
and at 08:36am Dr. Jonas started.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Praying for Lily! I remember when my friend and neighbor was advocating for your sweet girl...I'm so glad she is with her forever family and receiving her life saving surgery. Holding you all up in prayer.
