Day 2 - Morning Update

Our little Empress certainly does have her own agenda!
Lily's rhythms are still irregular, and the only time she is stable is when they pace her heart rate at 175 beats per minute. That is too fast, but they have kept her there since 2am since Lily's blood pressure was dangerously low. They are also keeping Lily cooled to 95F.  Lily hates being "freeeeeezing" so it is a good thing she is still heavily sedated.  Of course sedation has been an issue too since Lily keeps fighting it and trying to wake up.  As much as I love to see her precious eyes try to open and her body move a little, that is not ideal for her at this point in time.   The Cardiologists have already been in various times this morning, and are trying to figure out a plan on how to lower her heart rhythm while keeping her blood pressure normal. Lily will more than likely remain heavily sedated with the breathing tube in for most of today.
Many of you have asked about Lily's hair bow.
Here is Lily's bow, back where it belongs!

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.
Do not dread the disease
that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
Psalm 91: 1, 5-6

  2. Hi Jodi! Welcome, and thank you for your prayers. Sweet Mackenzie had a fun day yesterday with Aunt Jan and her sisters. Naptime and bedtime were difficult since she shares a room with Lily. The girls are the best of friends, and completely inseparable. Mackenzie calls Lily "Na", and Jacques said she was searching the house this morning for Na and Momma. I cannot wait until Lily is more stable and the four sisters can see each other and know they are all ok.

  6. Not sure if you remember us ...but my daughter, Joy, and I advocated for Lily when she was "Juliana" on BAAS. Our son, Luke, came from Lily's SWI (through BAAS) and I know director Zhang really wanted her to find a family and get the help for her heart! We fell in love with her as "Juliana". A friend sent the link to your blog. And oh how I hated to see all those tubes on her, but we know the Great Physician and I just wanted you to know that our family just prayed together for Lily! And we will continue to do so.

I will be checking here to watch what God is going to do!

And she's a girl after my heart with her hair bow! :)

    Hugs and Blessings,
    Tammy (& Joy)

  7. We're also praying here in KY. I've been following along your path with Lily and Mack through your blog. Our God is indeed a God of Miracles! He just helped Miss Lily find her earthly home, and I truly believe He intends for her to be there with you and Mackenzie a while. Blessings to all of you...and I can't wait to see that precious girl all smiles again! (And thanks for getting the bow back...I, too, had missed it!:)

    Hugs...
